This drum competed in the Snare Drum Olympics at the Southern Drum Show held in Nashville in July 2009, and received 5th place overall in the ply shell category and 3rd place in the Subjective scoring category. We are pleased with the performance at the SDO.

The Quick Action Drum Lug currently offered in this store is the model R1, which is CNC machined from aluminum rod billet and available in a chrome plated finish or raw finish.

The R1 includes a #12-24 Nylon Insert Lock Nut which provides the “insert” in the drum lug. The R1 is mounted to the drum shell using two 10-32 screws at .625 inch center to center distance or using a single 10-32 mounting screw on the lug’s centerline.
The mounting screws can be protected with a nylon insulator, this also keeps the mounting screw from engaging into the drum shell material. The mounting screws and nylon screw insulators will be available from this site in a few weeks. Additional options include the use of a nylon flat washer to be used between the #12-24 nylon insert lock nut and the R1 lug body, or to use a #12 nylon screw insulator. We have been using the lugs without anything between the #12-24 lock nut and the lug body, with the nylon flat washer, and with the #12 nylon screw insulator. Basically exercising the various options to make sure everything works as intended.
